Time for personal business
"For the first time in the history of man, the sewage of nearly 3 millions of people had been brought to seethe and ferment under a burning sun, in one vast open cloaca lying in their midst. . . . Stench so foul we may believe had never before ascended to pollute this lower air; never before, at least, had a stink risen to the height of an historic event."- Joaquin I. Uy
Traveling Water
The Romains where the first ones to create a system to bring water from a source to a city, this was known as Aqueduct. These aqueducts were made of cement and stone. Each aqueduct would travel through many regions to reach the city or town. The aqueducts had fountains off to the side to get water. Water back then would have many kinds of bacteria. Many forms of the bacteria would cause most of the disease going back to A.D. The romans always had a constant flow of water unless the water supply ran out.

Improvements but still offal.
|
People would push people into the small drainage systems that would not be closed. This lead to disease. Another horrible improvement was having two or more stories to a building. People would throw the waste out the window and it would land on the street. Watch out it may land on you!!
